In my opinion, the Berkey Water Filter has its own benefits in portability as well as quality. However, slower flow rates and constant cleaning are not very pleasant. It is RECOMMENDED if you are renting a place that was unable to install a water filter. The Berkey is definitely better than a water pitcher. The Black Berkey purification elements that are used to filter water are equally as effective as Reverse Osmosis Systems.
