Been a while since I have been on here. Though today is April 1st that page has not been set up so am posting here in March.  We have been busy with trying to get garden going. Bought a new tiller that we are still waiting for. Ordered on line and will be spraying box down before opening it up and let sit in sun for a while due to not knowing who might be carrying the COVID-19.  Also decided to use this time while being told to stay at home to do some spring cleaning. Though there are some things I can’t do yet due to weather, I still have a lot I can do. Washing curtains and blinds, washing windows and cleaning the scatter rugs. Cleaning the hardwood floors as well.  Canned 10 lbs. of potatoes a few days ago, so should give us enough till we can get some planted.  Still have quite a few I canned a few months ago but decided to get more anyway.

Just staying busy as best I can. Wanting to catch up on reading and sewing as soon as I finish cleaning and getting the garden going. Working on those plans now as we were not going to do a garden this year because of DH not feeling well. But with things like they are now we feel we must do one. Don’t know what is in store for the future at this time.

Hope everyone is doing ok from this virus and staying safe.

I keep hoping and praying that this will not get that bad here in the US but that is just a pipe dream. Don’t know how long this is going to last but looking at China, their first case was Dec. 1st 2019. And it is still going there.  Here we are now up to 11 dead and 240 cases at last count. The Princes Cruse ship is sitting off CA shores with everyone on it  waiting to be tested and not enough test kits here in the US.  So I fear this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

We are prepped and ready as we can be. We can go maybe 5 to 6 months without leaving our house I hope. We have had things in stock that we thought we would never see the day we would need them and now I can pull them out of storage as now we will be using what we already had.

Hoping everyone here is about as well stocked and set to stay put in homes for at least a couple of months. It will be very hard on those that have to work. That will be a whole new set of plans to prepare.

Best to each and everyone here and please try to stay safe from this mess.

Hello everyone, been awhile since I have been on here. It kept knocking me off again.

Looks like everyone is getting ready for this coronavirus. We are ready and staying home now other than to doctor visits or picking up RX’s which we still have about 2 1/2 months before they are due to be filled again.

I noticed you guys are buying the 99% alcohol. That dries to fast and the 50% is not enough. The 70% is the one that is recommended for this virus as it must stay on surface wet for no less than 1 minute. The 99% dries much faster. I did a lot of research on this.

Also from the United states environmental protection agency there is a list of what will kill this virus.  Here is a list of some of the things:

Professional Lysol disinfectant spray  company is Reckitt Benckiser

Purell professional surface disinfectant wipes from GOJO Industries.

Sani-prime disinfectant wipes from North Am. infection control, LDT.

Oxivir wipes, cleaner and spray from Diersey Inc. which is the ones that I have also.

Lysol brand cling & fresh toilet bowl cleaner from reckitt benckiser

These are just some of the things but I think the toilet bowl cleaner is in stores as well.

These are just some of the things from EPA’s registered Antimicrobial products for use against Novel coronavirus, SAR’s CoV2 the cause of COVID-19.

Hope this helps with your prepping items.

And of course lots of hand washing and hand sanitizer Purell is 70% alcohol. This is why they say it is the best one to use.

Corsaire, I to had been looking at tents and cots. I was looking at the ones that has the partitions for like 3 rooms. But decided not to buy into it. To cold for a sick person to be out in one right now. But my daughter has a 10 person camper. Can’t close off a room but can be used as a quarantine camper. If they come here, they can put that in driveway and we can hook it up to electric and water. Only thing is not be able to use bathroom in it as we cannot hook to sewer line. So make shift bucket for toilet will have to do. I have plenty of pans they can use to wash up in.

I guess everyone has heard the news that this is the time to get prepared. I am as prepared as I can get right now. Went to drug store today to pick up meds and vits. we needed. Tomorrow, I am going to grocery store to pick up some extras incase of family coming in. Need to get some kitty litter for make shift toilets. Need some heavy duty trash bags as well. Not really much else I can think of.  Still hoping they can get it under control before it hits.

thought I had posted on here but didn’t take a few days ago.  The babies are so cute. And it looks like they are going to be spoiled rotten.

Found out about DH’s test this past Wed. He has NASH Cirrhosis of the liver caused from his diabetics. There is some scaring but not bad. We are going to try to turn this around so he is now on a liver detox. Liv 52 and Milk Thistle. Got to get his diabetics under control which may mean a new primary care doctor or finding a doctor that deals with diabetics. Family doctor told him at his age he can eat what he wants. Well with an A1C of 7.0 at last lab results, that is not good. Way to high. So now maybe he will do as he is told about taken his metformin and eating like he should.  This may be what all the fluid is coming from and not cong. heart failure. But the Lord is in charge and we will get him straight.

On Penterest there are instructions on how to make olive oil lamps. I am going to try one out. I do have some oil that is way out of date. So saving it for just this purpose. It will be a couple of months before I get that DIY going, but will let you know how it turns out.

Hello and welcome to the forum.. You are so right about what you are saying. Interesting about the rabbits.  Never heard of having to give the same water bottles to each rabbit. I raised two rabbits many years ago. Long haired white angora rabbits. They were pets not for eating. We never had a problem and had one large water bottle for both. Though we ended up having to give them away to someone that raised that type of rabbit when we moved back to where we are now. That was well over 45 years ago.  At my age now, I don’t plan on living off Grid. I will stay put if I can and do what I need to survive. Though hoping it won’t come to that.

We might be able to get away with mask in some places, but banks and other institutions will not allow mask or even sunglasses. So that part is iffy.   We already have it here. Just look at a lot of Wal marts they have cameras watching you in certain areas.  On street corners at lights. And almost anywhere there is a bank, they have it. At least around here where I live they do. Can’t answer for other states and what they are doing. You have to look for them. But try the places where banks are. If there are street lights then there will be cameras. Those poles with the dark color glass that look like domes are watching you.

I heard there was a Japanese man in Maui visiting from Japan and he stayed in a hotel, was eating out etc. When he went to I think it was the airport to go home, he was checked and had a fever. Now they are going through the roster and notifying all the people that stayed in that hotel. I am not real sure if this really happened but saw it on one of the news cast the other day.  Hoping they were wrong.

It would not surprise me if he had H. Clinton for his Vice President. But then I look at how Obama is campaigning for Bloomberg. He is all over the news now. My bet is that Clinton is a cover and Michelle Obama will be the pick. Either way we are screwed.  To have Obama back in the White House. Yeah, that is scary.

I am sure they are looking for round 3 to get him out. If he wins the next election and the Dems still have the house, I am throwing my TV out the door. I am very much over the thugs trying to take over for a one world government.

It’s not about what Trump has or hasn’t done but about power and the Dems want it bad. They want total control of We The People.

Crow Bar, I agree with your comment.  Not going any further with this as I know how things are going to turn out. Not really worried about it one way or the other. Besides we have enough problems with our dumb VA governor trying to take away the 2nd amendment and Bloomberg right there with him buying his way into VA, as well as the White House. The pro guns met him with unfavorable voices and hopefully this time they heard us. But I won’t get my hopes up as Northam and Bloomberg are out to take away our 2nd amendment rights and with that we loose many other rights as well. Not good for the Commonwealth.

Xant Dewit,  You have been busy. Moving is a chore. My granddaughter and her DH is going through that now.  Moving from Maryland to Washington State. That is a long tough move. I know how it is when you have preps and don’t want that known. Makes having help more of a limited deal.  Hope your teenagers were a big help in getting all that packing and moving done.

Went to Church this morning, then came home, fixed lunch and now DH is taking a nap. Will be heading back to Church tonight. So not doing much today. They don’t call it a day of rest for nothing. So we are taking it easy. Next week will be a busy week for us.

The wipes and cleaners I got from Daisy’s email is Oxivir Tb. All of you may have gotten it as well.

Today did some dusting and cleaning then went to store to pick up RX. Came back fixed lunch for DH and myself and went over the taxes. Yes it’s that time again. More paper work. Like I don’t have enough paper work to keep up with.

Have been thinking about the garden and what my plans are going to be. DH may not be able to do much to help me this year and I don’t want him to mess with tiller after what happened last year. Scared me half to death when he fell and his hand was that close to the blades. So will get son in law to do that part if I decide to do one. I really think this virus is going to direct my path on the garden. Though I am about as set as I can be for it. I should check my gloves as DH keeps getting into them for his little projects. But think I am still ok as a couple of years ago I hid a bunch from him. But will check. I think the only thing I don’t have are the coveralls for protection. Just not at the point of rather I will go that far or not yet.

Take care everyone and no falling on ice and snow. That is not allowed.
