We’re definitely going to see some shortages at some point. We buy some much crap from China that there’s going to be a giant gap in our supply lines.

I suspect there are going to be a lot more places shutting down production, too.

I’m really glad you all are liking the daily tips. Little habits are so much easier to maintain than complete overhauls.

Shortly before I pulled my youngest out of public school, I was dismayed to discover all of her textbooks were online. So there was NO WAY I could keep her off social media when she was allegedly studying because she had to be able to be online to access her schoolwork.

The schools make it almost impossible to monitor your kids when they do things like this.

OldMtWoman  – I think I have the same virus as you. This cough has been utterly brutal! I feel like finally, almost two weeks later, it’s winding down, although I still have a cough. Like you, I’ve barely been able to eat, my stomach hurts from coughing so hard, and all I wanted was water, water, and more water.

Here’s hoping we are both recovering!

Those exercise balls are amazing at helping you build core stability. Sometimes I use one as an “office chair.”

I’m glad you have some exercises that will help your feet. Foot problems can be some of the most difficult to deal with.

I envy those of you with 7-8 hours of sleep. I’m lucky to get four. Since I don’t sleep well, I try to at the very least rest. If I can’t get to sleep or I wake up in the middle of the night, I lay in bed all cozy and watch something on Netflix that I’ve seen before or read a previously-enjoyed book. (That way I won’t try to stay awake to see what happens next.

It’s not ideal but I figure it’s better than being on the go for 20 hours a day.

I love what everyone has going on!  OldMTWoman – one day this week I’ll be addressing some core exercises that are less difficult than planking.

My day didn’t turn out as planned. There’s a family emergency in Canada so today and tomorrow will be spent traveling back – more than 35 hours of travel just because it’s last minute. Lots of hurry up and wait. I’m planning to walk through some airports with my backpack to get some steps in.

I walk everywhere. As most of you know, I’m traveling in Europe right now, and I don’t have a car (deliberately).

I realized when writing up today’s challenge that I have only been in a car twice in the past 8 weeks. I took a car service from Macedonia to Montenegro and a friendly neighbor offered me a ride home from the grocery store the other day during a storm. Every other place I’ve gone has been on foot. Where I am now is extremely steep and hilly and this has been great for building endurance, especially when I have a backpack full of groceries.

    You guys are rocking it!

You guys are all doing great!

My core strength is pretty bad. I had surgery almost a year ago to repair a large diastasis that I’d had since giving birth to my children. (They’re 19 and 24.) I had near-crippling back pain and saw physician after physician and not one of them thought to check my abdomen for the cause of my back pain. Finally, one did and discovered this issue. What it means is that my abdominal wall separated in the center and never went back together. It’s virtually impossible to build your core strength with this issue and there was nothing in front to provide strength and stability for my back.

The recovery for this surgery was brutal but at this late date, the only possible way to fix it was surgical. I’m so glad I did because even though my core strength is nothing to write home about now, I can walk long distances and carry heavier things without excruciating back pain that keeps me off my feet for days to weeks afterward.

So core strength is my primary focus, although I definitely want to improve in other areas too.
