I would like to learn a second language besides the Latin I “learned” in school years ago. Morse code is almost like learning a second language. I used to pump German words out of my Dad after WW2.
I used to do braille. I had a braille writer from the school and did it for the school kids. Forgot it now though because I moved and had to give the braille writer back to the school and there were no blind kids in my new town so I just didn’t keep it up. I do have my own form of shorthand that helps me write faster and sometimes I can hardly read it myself.
When I get done with code so that I know it well enough at a good speed I will study a second language. DH knows two besides English. I have read that learning a second language or something like it like Morse code gives you an edge from dementia later in life, especially if you learned the second language as a kid. Keep that brain active. Kudos to everyone doing this. In a grid down situation Morse code would be valuable because you could listen to what’s going at greater distances.
