A long time ago, before I had a credit card the small town bank I banked out was closed on a Friday afternoon by the Feds. No one was sure what the plan was for Monday, so local businesses wouldn’t take checks on that bank. Fortunately, on Monday the bank opened under different ownership and I had access to my account.
