Sending the “Great Satan” back into the Tenth century might just be attractive enough to a regime whose guiding doctrine dictates that in order for the Twelfth Imam to re-appear there must be massive global chaos and bloodshed. They certainly have the lift capability. A couple small nukes, built or purchased, launched from a couple of modified tankers off each coast would likely do it. Little Rocket Man is probably crazy enough to do it too, if goaded enough or thinks he can get away with it. We simply do not know what capability our military would have after such an event. Would their communications still work? Satellites? If they were to launch a nuclear response… to somewhere… that “somewhere” can likely respond in kind. It would be a horrible scenario for us, but maybe an attractive one to someone else.
