Possibly we obscure the facts of the matter by categorizing certain people according to the political party mantel. If we instead consider a straight line with total freedom (anarchy) on one end and total totalitarianism, to include socialism, communism, nazism, dictator, etc., most politicians today, regardless of party affiliation, fall more towards the totalitarian end. Most are also mostly disconnected from those who voted them into office and fail to keep the positions they stood on in the campaign. For instance, a majority of the American people believe immigration is a destructive force for the country and want illegal immigration stopped. That position is not reflected in activities being conducted by the representatives themselves.
