For sure, Olivia.  The bucks must be separated from the milking does or THAT also will taint the milk.  Small operators like me…we take our does to ‘visit’.  Only takes a few minutes.  Leave those stinky guys to someone else to care for…

In the old days they mixed goats with sheep….cuz goats are ‘browsers’, eating higher up stuff like tender branches and bushes.  They do eat grass too.  Sheep are ‘grazers’ eating primarily grasses and low stuff.  They can’t climb up to reach like goats.

Goat herds are often ‘rented out’ to graze down areas that are wildfire risk.  Neat to see them along highways, etc.  And around parks.  Sometimes they have to guard them tho…from idiots who would harm them.
