A good read as well as a scary one. I think Mike Rowe (Dirty Jobs) is right on target with his stated position that college may not be for everyone and that a good plumber may make more money than a Phd. The ‘trades’ are going wanting. As a consequence of that shortage, skilled workers in the trades are still keeping a roof over their heads and food on the table.
The only fact that is maintaining the current economy according to some is the further acquisition of more personal debt. The frightening thing about that is that according to the US Labor Dept., 49% of American workers earn only $30K or less annually.
