The muzzle rise depends upon what muzzle device you are using.
Back when my PD rifle had a “giggle switch”, I put an original AWC Hyper-Dyne brake on it. The muzzle would actually drop as it was fired, and you could zipper the target from top to bottom once you practiced a bit.
The VG6 Epsilon brake I just stuck on my AR pretty much eliminates all muzzle movements in semi auto fire, haven’t been able to play with the fast stuff in a while. Helps immensely on the light guns though.
