If the Japanese are right and was drone not a mine then possible real condidates usa,russia,china, israel,Iran. Unless red flag from Saudi then by ones to gain are israel , Russia and usa. China gets major oil imports from region and instability hurts it them russia and eu are anti Iran sanctions. Iran loses if war starts because export goes to zero after the finally have work around for usa sanctions. So left with usa and israel with finger pointing at Iran. Usa had more to gain as now a net exporter of oil along with needing excuse to get at Iran like israel is looking for too there is a chance it is the yemen resistance but drones might be beyond their ability to aquire. But the boat attacks last week are within the range of operations.
