Threat: winter or ice storms causing long term power outage (extreme cold)
Lose electricity if this happens?
Yes (solar backup to well). Heat and cooking available through Vermont Casting wood stove (1-2 years of wood supply readily available). Well and septic.
Will I have running water?
Intermittent based upon well with solar backup (stored water in excess of 2 weeks, sanitation water in excess of two weeks, if winter storm I can heat snow on wood stove, also have water filters)
Will I be able to purchase more food and supplies or relay upon what I have?
Questionable. If major winter storm, I might be snowed in for a week or so. I have food stores on excess of 6 months for myself and my pets. I have been practicing cooking on my wood stove. I also have a grill with 2 backup propane tanks.
Will I have to exacuate?
No. I should be able to stay in place.
Family member who will be particularly effected?
No.
