Well, here goes,
Q: Will I be likely to lose electricity if this emergency happens?
A: Pretty hit or miss depending on the severity of the storm or proximity of the tornado. Ice storms are the worst.
Q: Will I have running water?
A: In the past we have had running water, but, that may not be the case always.
Q: Will I be able to purchase more food and supplies or will I have to rely on what I have already?
A: Past occurrences have been pretty localized, so, if I go beyond my normal area I can get food, water, etc.
Q: Will I have to evacuate?
A: Been here for over 30 yrs and haven’t had to yet. Closest was several years ago when a tornado touched down 1 mile from my house, but, it was gone as quickly as it came.
Q: Are there any members of my family who will be particularly affected?
A: My 85 yr old father-in-law lives with us now. He’s ambulatory but slow and still pretty sharp most of the time. He would be my biggest concern.
