So, blizzard/flood first up:
Will I be likely to lose electricity if this emergency happens?
Yep, have some preps for that as well- like multiple spare pocket chargers/power banks for charging phone for communication and stuff.
Will I have running water?
Will depend on severity of blizzard/flood. Generally, floods haven’t messed with my plumbing, but would contaminate nearby creeks and such. Pipes are very likely to freeze in stronger blizzards, but said blizzards generally don’t contaminate the creeks the way floods would. (Sorry if the creeks thing isn’t part of the intentional question, but good to cover bases, no?)
Will I be able to purchase more food and supplies or will I have to rely on what I have already?
Again, depends on severity, if roads are blocked or washed out. And also if there was a store rush, thinking about it. But have food preps to get by for about a week at moment, which is usually enough for a fix or other work around to have happened or be available. If store unavailable, have small partial barter network set up with neighbor for situation, generally can get more supplies if/as necessary. If store available, chances are classics/staples not, but some more uncommon or unused or unpopular should be around, can make with this, esp if scenario is something like all can chicken gone, but still some turkey spam or other such can meat on shelves.
Will I have to evacuate?
No. Or generally no, anyway. Should be quite good where I am- on hill, trees and woods nearby, with good fireplace, plan is shelter in place for these types of storms.
Are there any members of my family who will be particularly affected?
Maybe some elders will be affected more by cold in blizzard, and have thus stocked some extra blankets and things, otherwise, no, to my knowledge.
Economic Disaster:
Will I be likely to lose electricity if this emergency happens?
Presumably, but will also depend what stage/point in disaster as well, power should run first couple weeks, I think. Months if lucky. There are some nearby culture areas that make a point of using no electric to live, they might teach how, or sell some non-electric tech like horse wagons, if you can barter something they want, eg, crossbows, guns, depending on specific strictness against what is considered advanced tech and such.
Will I have running water?
Like power situation above. Will likely run first weeks, then gone. Have some creeks, wells, and springs nearby, should be able to source water from those if it is only econ with nothing else wrong.
Will I be able to purchase more food and supplies or will I have to rely on what I have already?
Will almost definitely have to rely on own stores of food, then what can be bartered or grown. Worthless money, plus panic and runs equals no buy in disaster. On bright-ish side, live on small hobby farm with small herd beef cows, so might be able to butcher own meat one at time and last a while if cows can be kept safe from rustlers/free-roaming butchers during chaos/panic. Not good milk cows, as are a beef breed, but could possibly be used for that as well, have some older equipment from grandparents who raised milk cow instead of beef.
Will I have to evacuate?
Yes and no. Would be very good idea to get as far from large clusters of people as possible, given outward swarms from cities/urban areas storming to any slightly more rural areas outlying them, then further still. But all other aspects of situations mean evac is impossible or unadvisable. Roads cluttered, rural-ish area now with semi-set-up barter network, plus own hobby farm, mean I have better chance here than elsewhere at moment.
Are there any members of my family who will be particularly affected?
Cannot say of blood family, do not really know what could particularly affect them more than others here. But some of my friends live in much more urban areas, so it would be good idea to maybe focus on sneaking/getting them out while the large mobs are generally still content to look for and/or wait in bread lines or something, I think. Not quite sure, to be honest.
