My most likely disaster is a major hurricane. I went through a Cat 5 last year.
Will we lose power, yes. I did not have a generator then. I do now. It uses both gas and propane. Running water? No. I had several days supply, even supplied neighbor who took us in after the storm. What we didn’t have was sewer lift. We got water from Neighbors pool to flush. But the people on low end of sewer system had backup into their home. I learned how to protect my home by inserting a “block” in my sewer cleanout. I could not buy anything for several days after the storm. Power was out for weeks. But during first 3 days food was no problem as we as a neighborhood cooked up and shared our freezer contents. Will I have to evacuate. I would never willingly stay for another major hurricane. It was terrifying and dangerous. The looters after we’re worse than the storm itself and it took 3 days to see the first security team. Finally, I am probably the weakest link in my family…so nobody effected.
