The interesting thing about these studies is that they are groups.  They generate headlines.  I don’t find my social media depressing because my friends are actually my friends.  We send silly and uplifting things to each other and never tear each other down. We are quite honest with each other and we share strategies for our problems, such as meal prep or parenting hacks.  Sometimes we even offer to come over!  Its all about how the media is used. And who you are talking to. I am getting into this with my kids now and I insist that they know the people they are friends with as well that if they are on the computer it is for something interesting or useful. Are you learning something?  Or are you staring at silliness?  Watching pretty young men cover themselves with food isn’t interesting to me, and I asked my daughter why it was to her. Then we watched something more in line with learning to be a Vet.
