I’m from the Eastern side of Washington state. I’ve lived just about everywhere in the US growing up, and I’ve learned a lot from those different areas and all the different SHTF situations that can happen. I’ve been in bad snow storms, flooding, earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. Lol. We don’t really get a lot of crazy weather here, except wind storms. We are in an area where it doesn’t have too much of an impact though.
I count myself lucky to have moved here. We definitely get all 4 seasons, but the growing season is iffy depending on what you want to grow. I love the long winters and spring is basically a 2 month long monsoon mixed in with freezing rain sometimes. The summers aren’t that hot either. I pretty much love this place.
As for the one of the few things I haven’t really experienced… volcanic eruptions. I know Mt. St. Helens went off around 1980’s? Yah, not super excited if that ever happens again. I heard from a local here that it even coated this area in ash.
