🙂  I am a knife person.  I have such a variety cuz I need each one for a specific type of use.  Don’t know why, but I like them all.  Kitchen ones and utility ones and NICE ones!      [ Things like razor blades, on the other hand, REALLY give me the creeps!  Go figure!]

I just noticed a couple days ago how very dull and [ack!] dirty my SwissArmyKnife [SAK] is right now.  I carry/use that all the time.  Need to fix that today!  I’ve handled most of my knives a lot.  I can think of two…one of them is my larger 119 Buck knife…that I haven’t handled as much.  They would be good candidates for today.  I have a cheaper, utility knife similar to the Buck knife in size that I’ve used for EVERYthing thru the years.  Not afraid to abuse that one.  I’m more choosy with the Buck knife, because this is a classic one. Scored it cheap at garage sale and about dropped my jaw at the price I saw on the Buck website today. By the maker’s mark, Buck can tell when a knife was made. Mine’s between 1972 and 1986.

DH bought me the other knife.  That’s a risky purchase cuz it needs to fit a person’s own hand and feel balanced.  But it does fit.  🙂  It’s a different configuration than I’ve worked with – Texas Toothpick. It has an odd curve that fits my hand but the blade is more long/slim than I’m used to handling.  ‘Fraid it could be a candidate for a mishap from unfamiliarity.

So today I cleaned/sharpened SAK. Used the Buck to cut meat. Used a large folder knife from my BOB to cut down boxes that needed to be stored flat. Used the Toothpick to do a number of things….and just rolled it around in my hand, getting used to it. Rather wicked sharp but ….I like it. Choose the right knife for the right chore….if you can. Otherwise improvise.
