State Knife Laws. I spent quite a while today looking up the laws about knives in my state. It took some time to find a site I thot was reliable. Some laws have changed in the last few years…so I wanted to get updated data.
Some can be concealed and some cannot. Some are “illegal/dangerous” but none of mine are in that category. Most of mine are simply hunting/fishing/SAK. Except my “Texas Toothpick” folder….the new favorite of my kitchen, btw. I mentioned the blade is a little longer and that got me wondering. Yep….it’s too long to legally carry concealed in a pocket. But it’s a folder! Hmph!
So I either “open carry” it in a visible belt sheath, or leave it at home. That’s doable but I’m very glad I’m now aware of the legalities. My other heavy lock-back folder in my BOB is exactly legal length for being tucked away. Whew. All my sheath knives must be visible…in sheath, visible on belt or hanging off BOB if I’m not in the woods. If Stuff HitsFan…that will mostly be moot. But until then…..
OldMtWoman….anyone else?
