Yeah, lot of “intent” in our state for those grey areas. Things like Swiss Army Knife [SAK] are not “knives” in the legal sense. Thank goodness. But vast differences between states or even cities sometimes. Our state shortened the allowed blade length….which is what puts my hefty folder into a KNIFE category…..maybe. Hmph. Wish ours was 4″ !!
I found a site produced by a legal office ….who evidentally defends such cases. Good data with recent updates accounted for and exact place to find in “the books”.
In some comments, folks say: “Well a cop told me this…” Sorry, but their data is only a good as their memory. No one has perfect memory so it’s best to make sure the data is really in the state statutes. I made sure to copy/paste that whole page so I don’t rely on MY memory! Another thing in my ” To Print” file.
