So when we lived in a town of 2000, we would shop locally only when we had to.

Perishables mostly and bad ones at that.

Our monthly/bi-monthly two and a half hour (each way) trip to Sams club for staples and hit the big grocery stores for as much of the rest as we could bring back, We couldn’t afford to purchase even a third as much in town.

I don’t mind people making a profit, and paying the employees a living wage. I just don’t want to pay for it all myself, each trip.
