I am fat well over ideal bmi…. but everything scores in low and healthy range done blood tests last week, why first of all bmi is bs measurement. Second type of food and processing is key like crowbar said. Third is activity level.

At 510 i should not weight 230 lb but i do at 15 percent fat by the floating test. I can also haul in hay bales/ feed all day and walk well over 10,000 steps a day 15 to 20 on heavy walk days.

When you think of healthy you think of marathon runner who looks like a consentration camp victim or a sprinter who looks like a gym monkey or is it inbetween?
So many people go to gym to be “fit” stop wasting energy doing useless stuff find an activity you like that has physical component and use the energy to make yourself happier and more fit.

Note to gym monkeys ever notice the more people lift the more injuries over time happen? It is about micro tears in muscles to help them grow ie the burn… best way to achieve is 1/3 of max weight done at very slow reps ie 30 second cycle full range after 3 sets of those you will be completely burned without risking injury from lifting heavy yet still get both strength and bulk gains

For those who want lung capacity look up VO2 max training. Only thing that adds lung capacity not just more efficient use of current capacity. This is very important if you have asthma like me or other lung disease, what kiĺls us is when we get sick or have an attack that the lungs dont exchange oxygen properly more surface area with faster recovery will save your life in grid down. If you cant spend 30 min 3 times a week on your lung health then you just really dont care about yourself.

It was explained to me like this running is like tuning up engine to get best mileage, VO2max is like building a bigger engine. When you get sick it is losing lung capacity does not matter how effiecient you are you need capacity to get the job done. Ie there is no replacement for displacement.
