We’ve been debating the issue of electrical grid failures and EV’s. FWIW. Some owners can use their EV batteries to power some parts of their homes, but if you do that, how do you get to work … IF there is power at work …
Putting up solar panels at home to recharge the EV’s, great idea, but you are at work during the day.
Buy more batteries at home to store the power daytime so that you can recharge your EV at night, i.e. charge an EV battery from batteries, that is rather expensive.
Getting a generator to recharge an EV?
So yeah, EV’s appear to be for 1st world countries with 1st world, stable, state of the art electrical infrastructure with state of the art power generation. No fires will put them at risk.
Overall the grids are pushed to their limits as is, adding EV’s to that equation only worsens the problem generally for the grid, these fires caused supply failures and the resultant EV problem, interesting stuff to debate..
If EV’s must take over from gasoline vehicles, the grids need to be revamped.
