Yeah this is nothing new in Caracas it has slums around it and every weekend they count 30+ dead bodies left at trash collection sites at the edges of flavellas. On bad weekends it can rise to 50+. Always gun violence robbery rape vandalism. When I worked in Venezuela I spend half my weekends helping the poor there it’s a horror show I imagine LA will be there in 10 years.
Even as aid workers comming to help residents the gangs tried to steal and extort money one young lady who was jot worldly enough and did not listen to always go in groups and always have males in group found out hard way what happens …. when we found what was left of her it had to be dental Id. Her only crime was trying to help someone in need and being pretty with a healthy does of foolhardy thinking things where same as in her home country where women are equal and might does not make.right… don’t be a fool.
There has been roving death squads there for as long as anynone can remember they put up hand posters before a sweep usually it has different symbols on it but the street people.know and leave area. There are also no go zones if you are not well off enough, you go there you wind up dead after they organ donate you.
There is no safe places just safer. The traffic there is crazy bad aswell and the mountains block in all the pollution ad to that poor lots of drugs military police force a corrupt government and we all know where that goes. Wait I just described the nearest big city sarcasm not so much
