To give an idea of how much to do combining and not bog down you need a 140hp at the pto tractor take off you need a comhine  a hay cutter and baler for the straw.  Then you need a set of discs and a seeder and a sprayer  that is about $500,000 used and you better know how to wrench. If you go with smaller non 4×4 tractor you will take longer and when it comes to.combine the grain it will bog down machine so less and more wear on machines.  Adding a grain truck or dymp truck is another 20k most of us run two so you keep going and never stop tractor. This assumes you have irrigation if not add up to another 500k in gear depending on how fancy.

Grain is highly abrasive it wears out the plates and knives in combine aswell as the chutes and the fill machines.

I have a 1/4 acre of red rife wheat for me to take off with a scythe… was 5 days to cut heads the cut straw and stack  then take off the chaff and dry the wheat kerala. .. was 5 long days for 2 people lots of blisters and sore body. For 25 lb of grain  when done that is 20 loaves of bread…. it’s way cheaper for me to buy it and store than spend that in labour.
