Christmas Eve…I wish all of you a most wonderful holiday season!
I appreciate so much everyone who month after month continues to post on this forum. I love reading about your lives and learning new things from each one of you.
A special thank you to Daisy for keeping this web site up and going. It means a great deal more to folks than you, Daisy, can probably realize.
As LittleSister said above “getting old is not for sissies.” And, it does take effort to slow down the aging process. For me, accepting some of the physical changes that now limit what I can safely choose to do has been really hard. As one who has lived the bulk of my adult life independently with the freedom and means to do just about whatever I set my mind to do, having to accept limitations has been hard. In large measure this forum with its challenges has helped give me purpose to become better prepared for whatever life events outside my control come my way. And, as I review the steps I’ve taken, I am really pleased. There have been a few power outages recently that have given me an opportunity to identify some gaps in my emergency plans and to correct them. Recently my wi-fi router mysteriously decided to “die” overnight and I went through a brief emotional upset because none of my digital toys were working and I was not a happy person. 🙂 As an 80+ senior with lots of life experience, I didn’t allow myself to stay there long; but it made me realize how so many young people will absolutely not know what to do or how to cope if they can’t use their phones or computers or whatever they are “addicted” to.
So as I say good-bye to 2019, I suspect 2020 will offer it’s share of new challenges. But, I have been blessed with a long and interesting life, filled with joy and my share of pain, so whatever comes I feel confident that my life experience and my deep faith will continue to carry me forward to whatever may be out there in my future.
I pray that blessing for all of you, too! Remember, you can do it!
