Hi everyone. Yeah, Muffy. [wave] Seems like I have not been here for Dec. So without having a chance to even read all the posts above….yet….I decided to say HI. Didn’t know it had been so long.
This season has been rough. Lot of sad things as our elderlies are now even MORE elderly. It’s messed up a lot of things this year. DH and I are also aging of course. So we’re downsizing as I mentioned elsewhere. Not a major move…yet. But some day we’ll move closer to our next generations. In preparation of that and to relieve some day to day burdens, we’ve eliminated some daily chores …and expenses. Part of me hates that…taking apart our preferred lifestyle. More of me is practical and very relieved. Especially since we’ve had snow …snow….snow….snow….snow…. Rain would be nice….one does not have to SHOVEL rain! Hpmh!
DH and I have both had medical issues….great motivation for all this downsizing. I merely slipped on unseen ice and jammed my hand into the frozen ground. [I know how to fall better than THAT!] Then further strained the wrist by shoveling. Minor, but the thing is STILL weak and fussy.
DH will be having surgery in January [hopefully]. It will take him out of our fragile equation for weeks. He does the ‘heavy lifting’ in our lives. Not real sure how we’ll get around all of that with merely me….cuz I have annoying but undeniable disabilities. Another reason for our ‘downsizing’. Less daily chores/responsibilities. We’ll figure it out as it comes. I expect my wrist to be back and ready for full-time responsibility by that time!!! Hmph! ‘Course that means no more falling. DH currently hold our record…. SIX falls in a row while merely trying to walk up our steep driveway! Insanely slippery that morning! He didn’t get hurt tho. So much deep snow to land on…LOL.
So…that’s where I’ve been….trying to survive life even before any major stuff hits fan. The normal minor stuff piling up has been enough. So very glad I have the assurance of preps already in place. And experience using them. If we ever lose power with these incessant SNOW storms in our high country, we’ll be scrambling to keep warm but …yeah, I know where all the emergency heating stuff is.
Going to go back and read all your posts…catch up on how you all have been surviving and prepping and having good family times this December.
