Now I understand it is supposed to be a post EMP attack.
The author needs to read Ted Koppel’s Lights Out book for a better understanding of what a grid down situation looks like. Mr. Koppel also discusses how a cyber attack on our grid would be a high pay off, low risk, and hard to prove without substantial evidence. A missile launch would be detected not only by the US but other countries as well. Even if launched from a sea going container ship, there would be the ship as evidence itself, where it was coming from, and other paper trails.
However, removing all that, and sticking with the base premise, if it is a good read, by all means.
