A lot will come from returned and damaged products.
They are reducing their losses. Between write offs and damaged goods they would have to eat, cannot sell as new, its just good business.
How many “ladies” have a bunch of unworn dresses with the tags still in them, that don’t fit, wrong style, etc.
Now they can bring them back for credit, get ‘new’ and Nordstrom doesn’t have the loss of a product they can’t sell as new.
Good marketing/merchandising.
