Stockpiling any of that exotic stuff would be expensive, and hard to find when needed if you didn’t stockpile a bit.
I have four .308s. Like’em a lot! But I hunt deer mostly with a Weatherby Fiberguard in .270Win. Retailers sold them years ago. They came with a bedded McMillon fiberglass stock. Sold under the Weatherby name, they were actually manufactured by a Japanese company name Howa. I sent it off a long time ago and have the barrel and action Nitexed, so its weatherproof and looks like stainless. Topped with a Leupold 3 X 9, I’ve killed a LOT of deer with it, and its very light, which us older folks appreciate.
