@Log Man, I think you are right, as this is not just limited to a given region like a hurricane landfall would make.
I think what makes it more real is it is not just Bob or Jane, the Average American in some other city or state, but the rich and famous like Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, NBA players, etc. who are getting it.
Would like to think more people would at least have some preps after this, but some will just pass this off as a onetime only thing.
If there were to be another outbreak they will claim it is not like last time!
Those are usually the same people who say this is just a bad flu.
