I don’t know your other circumstances, family, etc. I don’t have any real estate to sell. Like you my house is paid for and we have a few months supplies. But I wouldn’t leave here for anything but the drug store, bank and walmart pickup. If you want to fix up the house in PA, then I would do so, BUT I would not leave my safe place, my paid for house and my supplies to do it. Can’t you fix the house up remotely, from NY? Unless fixing up the house puts you in difficult financial position, you can take another look at the world and PA situation after the house is fixed up. Presuming you won’t have to sell it to fix it up. So what I’m saying is consider the first step of fixing it up, and when that is finished, stop and decide if that is the right time to sell.
