Asheville NC is very nice.
But it is a bit expensive.
Not far from there is Cullowhee NC. I took my NOLS Wilderness EMT course there.
A bit more rural, less expensive.
The area of far West SC, Greenville, is also nice too.
Could you be a bit more specific to what you are looking for? Rural, urban, needs of a hospital or other healthcare facilities etc.
