I so appreciate your replies and please excuse my inability to respond/thank you until now.

Since my husband and I are semi qualified peppers (reading/research/collecting books/following protocol) for many years, we’re comfortable with identifying general SW area outside of Asheville.  I identified Asheville more as a map pin, but will be more SW area.  It is also reputed (hopefully still so) as an area of seasoned preppers.  We are concerned to be in an general area of community of like minded, even if not next door, but close enough.

I say we’re semi qualified because we’ve lived a small homestead life, purposefully somewhat off grid by using fireplace to heat home – which entailed firewood and chopping! – a garden that yielded enough to eat, fruit trees and bushes, proximity to 2 lakes, etc.  We felt it was preparation for this….not knowing when “this” would happen.  Then 2 years ago we answered the call of our children to participate in gchild life since we were in Canada and they are in US.  We sold and moved here (SoCal desert ugh) and are ‘halfway prepped’, started over w prepping.  But as a family we realize this isn’t the best place to be.  Heck if we lose elec and water we’re in deep doo doo.

Right now I’m worried about how to quickly do this too.  I’m convinced that within 6 months things will be very dire and moving may not be possible.

Thank you for listening, friends.
