Geo can also be built from pallet wood scraps and can shed more snow ice weight and are more wind resistant with natural air flows. Using vertices farming and second layer ( mezzanine ) you get way more space. You can make all the pieces on ground then assemble.
As for water proof. When you screw the joints of wood use wood glue as in between the green house plastic you can use rail and caulking if that too hard use non expanding spray foam.
Slight leakage for a green house is not a big thing all of them do even the acres of commercial glass ones. Also humidity caused by plant photosynthesis will make any green house humid anyways
If you get pouring leaks just means you did not built a tight structure that is same issue with any type. Just psychological more attention to joints.
That being said we use our for mushrooms and a wapini style for other stuff. We live in a zone 3 and we get 6 feet plus of snow a year and and ice storm every 2 or so.
