I’ve been busy today. My first priority today was to finish cleaning up the fraudulent use of my son’s debit card. Annoying and time consuming.
I have been reorganizing my first aid supplies. The old tackle box I have been using was filled to overflowing and made things very difficult to find. Yesterday I bought a new easy to carry storage container and have moved everything to that. I have a list of things we need to have it in.
I decided that our 72 hour to go backpacks were both not easy to access and in the way stored in the coat closet. We had bought a bench to sit and take off things like muddy or snowy shoes and boots and it has storage under the seat. I moved all the backpacks there and later this week will go through them and update them as needed.
I also ordered a packet of mylar bags with O2 Absorbers. I will use them to make my own freeze dried meals. Some will be for one person, most for 2 people, and a few for 4 people. I plan on spending some time today and tomorrow searching for recipes that we like. I generally test the recipes using a combination of fresh and freeze dried ingredients. I don’t want to use the expensive freeze dried meat until I know we like the recipe. Once I have several recipes, I’ll make a bunch of meals in the Mylar bags. If I buy a #10 can of freeze dried ground beef (or chicken) I want to have a variety of recipes using it so I can get the entire can of meat used the same day. It will take time, but one day at a time and I’ll get there.
