Still snowing on and off here. I love the crisp white covering. It is so peaceful.
On a light note, here’s how you know you live in rural area. With a ice/snow storm approaching, instead of long lines at the grocery store, you have long lines at the county dump (trash and recyclables — no curb side service here). Lol!
As I waited yesterday at the dump, I saw one of my neighbors, do being rural folks we were all down right neighborly. I didn’t realize how many single/widowed/divorced gals lived in the area just like me. I got some great tips, including on cooking on my wood stove. I also scored some seedlings in the spring.
Last night, I warmed up stew on the wood stove.
This morning, I inventoried my dog supplies. My dogs are my fur kids, so I ensure they are good to go. I have a rotating supply of dry and wet food. My dogs are good for at least 10 months on dry food. I also have several cases (18) of wet food, which has a longer expiration date than dry and is much easier to store. I also have treats, toys and flea/tick meds set aside. All in, the puppers are good for at least 12 months.
