Should our government ever go fully Big Brother, the questions I ask myself are:
How will we resist air superiority?
How will we deal with drones and infrared vision?
I think our government has already gone what I would consider big brother. I worked under the NSA when I was a soldier in the 80’s and 90’s, before we spied on Americans. I know what tech we had 25 years ago and I know how far computers and networks have come in that time, so I understand what is going into the data collection facility in Utah. Every single bit of data you communicate, whether it is over phone, text, email, or whatever, is collected and stored at the NSA. If you are suspected of something, it is trivial for them to pull up everything you have ever sent. To me, that is big brother.
If you mean China style totalitarian government, then the answer is you can not resist it, at least not alone or in small groups. If the chinese people really wanted to be free, all they have to do is sit down. Stop everything. No one works. If they all did that, the government would grind to a halt, they would have to negotiate.
