Yesterday before the snow storm, I made a quick run to drop off items at the food pantry and thrift store. I needed to clear clutter out. I had canned goods nearing expiration and clothes that didn’t fit or that I hated.
Dropping off items at the thrift store, I had to stop and see what new items they had. I scored one cast iron pan, perfectly seasoned. Better yet, I spent about 20 minutes chatting with an older lady about cleaning and cooking with cast iron. She had great tips about wood stove cooking.
I also stopped at the local hardware store. They had a sale on pet friendly ice melt, 40% off so I bought the maximum quantity allowed. My ice melt inventory is now at least through 2 winters. I also bought a couple extra bags of sand.
The snow started; we are expecting at least 9 inches, so here in the High Peaks area, I expect at lest 12 inches. Before going to bed, i shovelled off the deck of about 3 inches and had at least another 6 inches this morning.
Besides shovelling this morning, I started my organizing and inventory of medical items. I definitely need to add to my medical stash. I have good refence books. Someone mentioned the Altons’ books, I have several and they are worth downloading. Any recommendations on a good natural healing/herbal book or course?
Off to weather the snow storm; keeping my fingers crossed that I don’t lose power. No big deal if I do as I am prepared and could hold out until the thaw.
