I don’t think I have checked in for a few days, still working on things, most small.
Tuesday: continued updating first aid kit and moving things to new box.
Wednesday: created inventory cards for items in basement storage. I used Word and made business card sized inventory cards. I have a binder with card holder pages and a divider where the items we have on one side and items we have used and need to replace on the other side.
Thursday: Went through the black friday ads to see if there are any prep items we could use. I foster kittens and my last litter left on Tuesday so today I cleaned and disinfected the “kitten room” (AKA Master bathroom)
Today: PIcked up two 3-4 week old foster kittens to raise until they are about 2 pounds. The way these boys are eating that won’t be very long. This is one aspect of prep that I haven’t thought about. If I have foster kittens, I need to have food and supplies. Depending on the age of the kittens, I would need kitten formula, canned food, dry food, litter and a litter box. If they are tiny, like my current guys, I would need a way to contain them and since they are babies they will need toys. Looks like I have my list and i need to start stockpiling things. The local humane society provides me with all the supplies I need, so I need to set aside a few supplies with each litter. Last winter I ran out of canned food and the kittens wouldn’t eat dry food, I had to run out in a snow storm to buy kitten food. That’s one thing I don’t want to do again.
