I sit in front of a computer every day for work and I don’t like to do it on the weekend, so I will post everything for the weekend.  First off, I want to say how VERY GLAD we are that we moved out of California last year.  After becoming preppers, my husband and I realized that Southern California was the absolute worst place to be in a SHTF scenario, so we left.  One daughter is still there, so we are hoping that she will come to that same understanding before it is too late.  But until she does, we will maintain a place for her to evacuate to…

We were busy this weekend.  I think because we are so anxious to get a lot of things done before winter hits.  On Friday, we bought another load of wood.  I have no idea how much wood we will use over the winter and I want to make sure we have enough.  Then on Saturday, I cleaned out the floor of the chicken coop.  I spread the wood shavings and stuff on the site where we want to put the garden next year to beef up the soil.  We are putting a sod roof on the chicken coop (it is straw now, sod to come) and have a water barrel to catch water for them.  It is not clean water (because it is running through decomposing straw) and I researched how to filter the water.  I am ordering activated charcoal to make a simple filter.  Then I made a batch of apple cider vinegar (the first time) and two batches of soap (not the first time).  My husband organize some of his tools in the garage so we can park my vehicle inside during the winter and then finished putting up the backer board for the tile behind the wood stove.

On Sunday after church, we laid most of the tile on the backer board.  I can’t wait until we put in the stove!  I am so looking forward to wood heat instead of electric.

I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving and being able to see our daughter for a few days.  I would like her to help me inventory our medical supplies and put together the first aid kits, but she is bring her boyfriend and due to opsec, I don’t want him to know what we have and where it is.  So that task will have to wait for another time…
