Looks like I last posted 5 days ago, on Tuesday 🙁

It’s been a bit rough and I have been exhausted. On Wednesday, got up at 4:30 in the morning to go to church 1.5 hours away – not my usual practice on Wednesday. Got back home in the early afternoon and finished shopping for Thanksgiving and stocked up on fruits and veggies for juicing. This year, we’re on our own because all travel plans were canceled when we thought my daughter was having surgery on this day. But it’s OK. We’re just roasting a chicken I got from a local farmer. No sense having a bunch of turkey meat left over when we’re keeping Advent Fast. No real prepping.

My plans for lots of fancy bean dishes flew out the window – I’m so tired – a flare up of the fibromyalgia and the polymyalgia. it’s all omelets and salad or beans and salad with corn grits or rice…. so much for fancy stuff.

On Thursday, had a very nice Thanksgiving meal for the 3 of us and then took our pumpkin pie and some whipped cream to the nursing home to see Dad (Alzheimer’s – too severe to care for at home, and he gets violent if he’s not medicated), and I made sure to spray as much whipped cream on his pie as he wanted, and more, and we all had a great time with lots of laughing. No prepping, but I did think about what in the world we would do if everything fell apart and the nursing home was no longer an option. 🙁

I welcome any constructive ideas.

On Friday, I observed Buy Nothing Day. Also started trying to make up for the work I didn’t do on Wednesday and Thursday (12,000 word project due on Tuesday morning). Started preparing for Sunday (soaking beans, washing clothes). Washed a quilt and hung it out to dry. Looked at my list of prepping tasks for the rest of the month – but didn’t get anything done.

Today, Saturday, worked again. I don’t like to do money-making work on Saturday. I like Saturday and Sunday off so I can do other things / rest. Two non-work days in the middle of the week sort of messes that up when you’re self-employed and need to pay the bills. Saw the Black Friday sale for Sun Ovens and really wanted one, but decided my wallet needed me to find a good set of plans for making my own again (used to have one made of cardboard boxes that actually worked, but it got destroyed a few years ago). This time a better one with more insulation and tighter seams…Looking at this site: https://www.solarcookingatlas.com/make-sun-oven-solar-cooker.php# and this one: http://solarcooking.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Solar_cooker_plans

If I can build one that works in the winter, I know it will work in the summer 🙂
