Sunday. A quiet day for me. Tried a new slow-cooker recipe using up some pork pieces in freezer. Lots of spices and curry with orange juice, raisons, unsweetened coconut flakes. Not bad for something different. Reviewed some youtube videos on making fire starter from wax and dryer lint someone had mentioned on a post. Think I’ll try that. Also, ordered a seed catalog from Baker Heirloom Seed Co suggested by another other youtube homesteader type. Can’t remember if I mentioned also ordering a grow light for my indoor winter gardening effort. Bought a timer also for it. Talked with my handyman neighbor about removing tree branches that block sun from my south windows. Found a lot of youtube videos concerning gardening ideas for the elderly or disabled. I think gardening is definitely going to help me keep physically up and about as well as mentally engaged. Hoping to maybe get my diabetic neighbor who seems to have given up involved in some measure. She’s 10 years younger than I am and it makes me sad for her. Attitude is so important to how well we age and how well we cope with life’s journey. Wish I might redo those “too many times” I let things stress me out, that truly in the grand scheme of living didn’t make an ounce of difference 10 years down the road. I love some of the “older” folks on this forum whose stories make me laugh. Can’t remember who was telling about a terrible blizzard they managed to get through, but that was a great memory. Thanks for sharing.
