It’s been a busy week, so I’ll post what I did all at once… We went to a meeting for our local ham club this week. We learned about grounding and antennas, which will be useful when we put in our home station. I stocked up on canned veggies during the Thanksgiving sales and made turkey stock from the turkey to put in the freezer. We also had a little scare with our furnace yesterday. We haven’t finished installing the wood stove yet, so we cleaned, filled, and tested one of the kerosene heaters that we have in the garage. Most of the rest of our week was spent finishing putting up and grouting the tile that will be under and behind the wood stove, and sanding and polishing the stove. I will put the other coat of polish on it on Tuesday, and then buff it and light it on Wednesday. Then it will be ready to bring in the house!! After all the work we have already put into it, it looks like mounting it and cutting the hole in the roof will be the easy part… 🙁 And lastly, I made homemade toothpaste!! Ok, it’s tooth powder, but we will see how it works. I’ve been complaining to my family about how I want to get fluoride out of our lives, and this is the first step.!
