Over the weekend DH and I had a long discussion about prepping in general. Since we are full-time RVers we have limited space to put aside food and water. We also don’t want to add much more weight to the RV. Dehydrated food is making more sense to us all the time and doing some kind of water filtration, even filtering the water from our gray tanks and reusing it. We also discussed whether we would bug in or bug out in a SHTF scenario and decided that in our present state of unfitness we’d be better off bugging in.

By the end of the weekend we determined that our number one prepping goal now is to lose weight and work on strength training. We are in our mid sixties and even if we were at our ideal weight we’ve lost a lot of  muscle tone over the last few years. If something major happened and we were forced to bug out, we’d be in deep trouble. Maybe we could walk five miles if it didn’t involve hilly terrain. It’s a sobering thought.

Yes, I still plan on prepping in other ways. Yesterday I purchased some beef jerky that was on sale and I picked up some more hydrogen peroxide at the dollar store. But trimming down and getting stronger is the priority for the foreseeable future.
