I/m so sorry to read Cheryl’s post about her mother. Deepest sympathy sent your way as you move through this life event.
My day is slipping away but I am getting some stuff done. Talked by phone with my sister who is 83 years old and living alone also. I was able to laughingly get her to talk a bit about things she might need to do to prepare for winter challenges. She admitted she probably did need to be a bit better prepared than she is currently and I think she will do the few things we put on her list. I was happy to learn she does have a nearby neighbor who sort of watches out for her that she can ask for help. Yesterday, I found an article written specifically for and about the elderly and the different things we need to think about. Our diminished physical strength is a big concern. I positively hate exercise but know I’ve got to get more serious about that. Maybe a new year’s resolution – again. This morning I checked on my spinach – it’s growing, yeah! My little celery plant from the cut off base is growing also!!! It actually looks like a tiny little stalk of celery. Makes me smile. I still have not planted the roots from that bunch of green onions I bought, but I’ll do that maybe tomorrow. My Amazon order with items for my BOB should be delivered today so I hope to get that bag back in my car by Saturday. Worked on my financial plan today and things are looking pretty good for staying on budget for the year. When I read about the financial situation for so many elderly, I am grateful for my modest means. I have enough and a bit to share so that’s all I really need on my pilgrimage through this life. Sure hope everyone else is determining to enjoy just this day for we know not when there may not be another.
