Hi, all!!! Is it our last day for posting? I don’t know but I have definitely enjoyed reading all the post and learning so much from those who’ve been doing this prepping thing more seriously than have I. Well, excitement day….the grow light has arrived and my handyman is going to get it all set up for me later today. I told the spinach sprouts that light was coming and I’m here to tell you I think they giggled….woohoo! I remain convinced this new indoor gardening hobby is going to be a great thing for me as it forces me to get up and stay active. With the new light, I’ll thin out a few of the spinach sprouts and sprinkle a few rows of lettuce seeds to see how they do. With heat and light I think I’ll not be having to grocery shop for fresh green things as frequently. And, I’ll plant the onions today as well. It feels like Spring out today with temps in the 60s but headed back down next week. I watched several doomsday youtube videos yesterday and decided that’s not what my prepping efforts are about. For the serious survivalist out there, that may be a way to live; but, for me and mine, we’re simply country folks brought up to use common sense and take care of ourselves. We know how to make-do and we come from pretty sturdy genetic stock, so I think in the main we’ll be fine. We’re also faithful Christians so that gives us a bit of a different perspective on life as well. This activity has definitely been fun and I do hope someone will get a forum started for the older folks who have prepping interests.
PS….I’m almost finished repacking my BOB to put back in the car….so glad this activity reminded me to review that bag and update it….hope not to need it but glad it’s there!
