That is a great idea!
Note: I just posted about a EMP report from the Air Force University. Reading it now, but based off what I have read and other reporting, KNOWING routes to get home may be essential. GPS is not guaranteed to survive a EMP event or the signal degraded for a time, rendering GPS useless.
