Rufus, I’m going to add your banana description to things that make me laugh: “bananas on the hairy edge of being alcoholic.” I don’t think I’ll ever look at an overripe banana the same way again without laughing. Thanks!
<span style=”font-size: 100%;”>So appreciated OldMt’Woman’s suggestions for lighting! And love the bay window set up OldMansd showed us….based on suggestions I found a fairly inexpensive 4 ft. LED shop light at local Lowes so hopefully handyman neighbor can come over tomorrow to get it installed…..going to also hang some aluminum foil all around as suggested. My celery plant on the kitchen counter is nearly 5 inches tall….so cool, started it from cut off base of celery stalk purchased at grocery store. Picked up a big roll of Gorilla tape today along with a 10 X 50′ 3 mil plastic sheeting roll….it’s been suggested that one might need to tape off windows and doors in a nuclear incident. I pulled up the map that shows where all the active nuclear power plants are located in America. Wow…I’m sorta sitting in the middle of a bunch of them so I guess it makes sense to be prepared for an event where a power plant maybe has a melt-down. Whatever, it’s a topic I’ve not researched or thought much about but clearly one that’s relevant to prepping I think. It’s the radioactive stuff that gets pick up in the wind one must protect against. Fascinating reading about the top 10 nuclear disasters world-wide in the past 50 of so years. A close friend works with first responders of the 9/11 Trade Center tragedy who continue to experience health issues related to breathing the air at that time. So many of them have now died. She says its so very sad most folks don’t realize the extent of the fall-out from that event. I think Loving Life’s practice run is a great idea. Waiting for a random signal and then allowing oneself 30 minutes to get ready to go. PS GRANDPARENT ALERT: (I can’t help myself): my granddaughter placed in the top 5% of the total half-marathon runners (10,145) at St Jude event in Memphis yesterday. And in her age group females 20-24 yrs. she place #25 out 755 (top 3%). </span>
