We are giving ourselves the present of no Holiday pressure this year. Instead of decorating the house, we are redoing our dining room and enjoying decorations and festivities elsewhere. Because it will be under construction, nobody expects us to entertain!! I can cook and take things elsewhere for a change. Plus, I always secretly hate folks poking around my house. We have a hundred-year-old Cape Cod farmhouse that has a small kitchen and giant dining room. We are splitting our dining room to create a small dining room and a large pantry. My large cooking appliances and pots will no longer have to live in an outbuilding. We will also have more space to stack JarBoxes, close to where we use them. So, for the next week or so, we are deconstructing the room, inventorying supplies and appliances, and boxing what we will keep, while we prepare for the real work.
